About MGP Pro

MGP Pro is Maxar’s online solution for access to geospatial data. The MGP Pro platform enables streaming and/or downloading of current and historical satellite imagery, basemaps, and geospatial products for a wide variety of use cases.

MGP Pro offers several ways to securely access content, including an easy-to-use web interface and robust APIs, and plugins for popular GIS tools. The MGP Pro web interface allows you to identify the best available image(s) for your area of interest, and then view and download them in the format that integrates most efficiently with your workflow.

Additionally, the platform provides account administration tools to manage users and provide specific access permissions, enabling organizations large and small to fully utilize the available content.

The most current imagery delivered by the Maxar constellation is hosted by MGP Pro and referred to as "online imagery." MGP Pro typically adds 800–1,000 new image strips—equaling 1–1.5 million sq km in coverage—each day. Online imagery follows these guidelines for image production and hosting:

  • Cloud Cover 50% equatorial, 35% outside equatorial

  • Off-Nadir Angle 0–35°

  • Digital elevation models (DEMs) used for orthorectification

    • SRTM 90 m

    • USGS National Elevation Dataset (NED) 30 m over CONUS & Alaska, NED 10 m over Hawaii

    • InterMap World 30 m (ASTER-based) north of 60°
